Don't tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know the fish. -Mark Twain *note that all the events noted in this blog actually occurred but might be slightly over exaggerated to enhance the story as the author sees fit.

So I decided that I was going to move my blog from Myspace to here. I don't know what it is about myspace but I am just tired of it and wanted a change. Maybe is the whole immature feel of myspace. I don't know how this will be much better but I can promise you I wont put up any scandalous pictures of me in my undies.

The world cup started today at 10:30, work didn't necessarily stop but there was not many of us doing anything productive. We answered the occational phone call and I wrote out a few orders but other then that it was World Cup time! We had one TV showing Univision because that's the only way we get the game and another computer showing ESPN threw my moms Slingplayer. For those of you who don't know what that is. A slingplayer connects to your cable at home and then you can control your cable from any computer. It is very convenient for situations like this. I think she uses it to burn her knitting shows to a DVD :).

Every Country but the US has a national holiday today. Kids are out of school businesses are closed, unless you own pub and everyone is together to route on your team. What about America? Nope, of course not. Not for soccer, the nations number one youth sport!!! I understand that this probably wont change any time soon but its still sucks when most of our country wont even watch the highlights on ESPN. They will be watching reruns of Survivor or some other stupid reality show.

I believe that soccer is the number one sport in the world and will always be for one reason. Everyone can play. Its that simple, you can be 8 feet tall or 2 feet tall. If you don't have the skill to kick a ball while running then it doesn't matter how big you are. There are no steroids that will make you a better player then everyone else. You don't have to be a freak of nature to be "the next big thing". You don't even have to have shoes :) . Its a game for everyone and involves everyone. That is why baseball, football or basketball will always be American sports, other counties may play them but soccer will always be number one.

You'll be glad to know that I can comment on your brand new blog. I didn't know if I should've brought some sort of house warming gift or not, but welcome to blogger!

You'll be proud to know that even though I was at work without a television, I planned my lunch break to perfectly coincide with the 2nd half of the Germany/Costa Rica game.

I think I may just magically disappear for 2 hours from work to watch the US game on Monday though. Is that allowed? Does that make me a good citizen or a bad employee?
