Too Cute

I found this on a blog that I read everyday and had to post it. Its is addictive. I keep watching it over and over.

The Shop

Over the last couple of months I have noticed that my work is alot like the show, The Office. Of course we are a bit different but the same basic principles are there. We have an office up front and a shop in the back. We have a small group of people working at up front and we are all completely different people. We have crazy things happen every day and some days I do little to no work. We are missing the star of the show but its ok because we have better characters.

I could easily write a script from the stuff that happens here everyday. I want to write about all the characters but I cant think of how to do it without being mean or pointing out some mean truths so I will just leave it in the dark and your imaginations. After the show went off the air Cesar could have his own spin off show. Where he has a new job every week and gets fired for yelling "Shut up!" and then when they get mad at him, "Caaallllmmmm Down". I would watch it.

Switching it up a bit I will fill you in on what has been going on in the last week or so. I haven't posted because I just couldn't find the time. I like to write at work and every time I opened the page to write I would get a call or someone would walk in the door. I could never sit back down and get back into the writing mood.

Health update, I had an MRI done on my knee and on Friday I get to find out what is wrong. Up to this point I have seen two doctors and both have told me that they don't know. Something is messed up I don't care what it is I just want to find out and fix it so I can get healthy. I miss not playing soccer and Jenkins and Gibbs are on 3 teams right now leaving every night for a game. My eye is still messed up as well. My tear ducts are still messed up and even though I have gone to the doctors 3 times now its not better. Its the same. I am not a big on doctors. I grew up with parents who when i broke my finger as a kid gave me some Advil and made a homemade splint.

We just toughed it out. Of course I was lucky to not have anything to major happen to me growing up so it wasn't a big deal. I don't like to be stubborn about it either but most of the time common sense will prevail. In the two weeks I have been to the doctor 5 times now and nothing is fixed. Every time I go its money out of my pocket. It is pretty frustrating to go to the doctors and get nothing but another appointment.

Here is a website that I really have enjoyed over the last week. WWW.SERMONAUDIO.COM it is a database website with hundreds of sermons. You can look up sermons by category, scripture, or person. I find the old baptist fire and ice preachers to be my favorite. You can find a few old guys who talk about the evils of this rock and roll music. How right they were.

I figure that I have missed the last 200 or so Sundays worth of sermons so I am going to listen to 200 sermons. Right now I am averaging around 2 a day. I even found one on video game addiction. He really didn't know alot about what he was talking about but he hit all of the important parts head on. It was good. You think it hurts me any that I was listening to it while I was playing my game? Its kind of a win lose situation. There is no way I could sit and listen for that long staring at nothing. But I can sit and listen and play all day long while playing my game. I think I have finally found my happy medium.

Good! Great! Grand!

Kevin have played in many bands since the time he started to play the sax. Some of them I have really enjoyed and others I just didnt care for. My favorite stuff of his though is when he just picks up his guitar and sings. He is a great song writer and his lyrics are great as well. Here is his myspace page. Its a rough recording that he did this weekend but it works for now.

Shopping pandemonium....

I went to HEB yesterday to pick up a few things I needed to make tacos for dinner. The parking lot was brimming with cars looking for spots. We, kevin and I, happen to get lucky and catch a car leaving, sure it was in the very back but we didnt care. I love shopping but only at the groceries store. I picked out one of the small shopping carts because I knew it was going to be crazy inside and the big ones just clog up the isles.

As I walked in it wasnt nearly as frantic as I would have thought. There was not a long line at any of the checkouts and everyone wasnt running to the water. Why do people run to the water? Its only supposed to freeze..its not the end of the world. I am positive that you will still be able to get water from your house. Or if that doesnt work melt some of the ice. Anyways I got my normal veggies to make some pico and tortillas for the tacos.

I found a few other goodies for later in the week. If tomorrow turns out to be icy then what a better project then to try and make a deep dish pizza? I just got a brand new deep dish pan that i have been wanting to try out. I will let you know how it goes. I dont know how much else I will cook this week because I have enough leftovers from lasts night cooking to cover me for the rest of the week. I grew up watching my parents cook for 8 and when I started cooking I was cooking for at least 5 or 6 people and I have no clue how to cook for just me.

Getting back to the story, I got a bunch of that wasnt frozen and kevin took care of the frozen stuff. He is the microwave king. We headed for the checkout. I was surprised and impressed that they had every checkout open. It was awesome, I love HEB. The lady said that today was bigger then their grand opening.

Bigger then the grand opening?!? That just screams idiocy. I understand that some people were just there to pick up the weekly staples but alot of people were not. They were out of break and most of the water was gone (I still dont understand that one). You can live off of nothing for two days and still be fine. Its not going to last for forever. Just pick up a few things to make for the next couple of days, maybe some hot chocolate, which wasnt out to my surprise and stay comfortable in your house. At least I know the next couple of days will be dead in HEB so I can shop in peace.

Todays word of the day

belated

1. coming or being after the customary, useful, or expected time: belated birthday greetings.
2. late, delayed, or detained: We started the meeting without the belated representative.
3. Archaic. obsolete; old-fashioned; out-of-date: a belated view of world politics.
4. Archaic. overtaken by darkness or night.

I dont know why i like this word so much but it sounds cool and i never use it. I plan to use it more now.

general revenue #1

I graduated from a crappy school with an assosiates degree almost 2 years ago. When I finished I paid off what i owed the school in cash. About 6 months later the school called and said I owed them 1500$ more dollars. I freaked out because thats alot of money and i know i paid it because its alot of money and you dont forget when you spend that kind of money.

I of course had no way to prove that i paid this money because i am retarted and lost the recipt. I was actually retarted on many levels during this whole thing and it could have been easily avoided if i had just gone to graduation and picked up my deploma when i shoudl have but like i said its a crappy school and i dont care to ever mention to anyone that i even went there.I dont feel that i learned anything and their process of teaching is a joke.

So hear i am 2 years later still talking to the dept collection agency. I would have started posting more about this had i known in the beggining that it was going to take so many calls to fix it. Did i pay the school the extra money? Yup, about 5 months ago. So, why have i been getting at least one call a week from this company? Because they want extra money!

Once a week i get a call and have the same conversation.

Him: "Hi Mr. Payton, this is . I am calling because you still owe (huge number) to (stupid school)."

ME: Hey! Hows it going? I was expecting your call today, it is a monday afterall and i get a call from you guys every monday. I bet now you are actually going to look at your screen and realize that I have already paid it and then you are going to put me on hold to go talk to your manager. Really what you will be doing though is getting another coke or going to the restroom so that i will get another call from you next monday. Was i right?"

Him: One second Mr. Payton I need to get my manager to check this out so that we will no longer call you.

I was on hold for a good 5 mins.

Manager: Hello?

He answers like i called him..

Me: Hello? Is this a manager?

Manager: Yes...who is this?

Me: This is James Payton

Manager: Oh...let me look up something.

I am put back on hold.

Manager: Ok, Mr. Payton ..it looks like you have cleared up your dept and you no longer owe anything.

Me: I know this..can you please write something so i dont get anymore calls from you guys?

Manager: I am doing that just now.

Me: Great! thanks alot.

So...hopefully its resolved but i dont think it is. Next monday expect another post because i bet i get another call.

Movie Trailers

Here are a few movies that I am really looking forward to.

The Tiger and the Snow
This looks really good.

300
I dont think i have ever wanted to see a movie more...looks soo awesome.

The Number 23
Something different from Jim Carey.

The Aura
Looks interesting

Truco and friends

We had people over pretty much every night. People I had not seen in a couple of years. It was good to catch up but it was more fun just to hang out like old times. I cant think of anything that makes me happier. We stayed up late into the evening just joking around and play some truco. This game is the best game for just goofing off and hanging out. Its very complex to learn but once you do its loads of fun. Its very hard to take the game seriously because one of the main rules is to try and cheat. There is lots of bluffing and if everything goes right you can slap your neighbor.

I don't have any new years resolutions but if i did it would be to spend as much time with my friends hanging out.
